Climate change to have a negative as well as positive effect on the Estonian infrastructure and energy sector

The positive impacts on the average increase in temperature can lead to a slight drop in heating demand during the winter, but on the negative side the necessity for air conditioning in the summer may increase.

Increased rainfall might also have a negative effect on indoor climate in buildings and increase the risk of mold. However, up until 2030, the impact of climate change on the infrastructure and energy sector is likely to be minimal, becoming more felt towards the turn of the century.
